PAI GOW POKER


Gow Poker is a play resulting from the old Chinese play called Pai Gow combined with the American poker. One it spells also Paigow Poker. Pai Gow Poker is played with 53 cards including 52 traditional cards and a Joker.

Play Goal

The goal of the play is to divide its cards into 1 hand of 5 cards (the strong hand) and 1 hand of 2 cards (the weak hand). It should be made so that its two hands beat the 2 hands of the donor or croupier. The player receives 7 cards and constitutes two traditional hands of poker the strongest hand with 2 cards being two Aces; the strongest hand with 5 cards being four Aces and the Joker. The joker can be used as an Ace or like a card to supplement a Fifth, a Color, a Fifth flush or a royal Fifth flush.

Way of the play

The player starts placing his bets on the table of Pai Gow. After received his 7 cards, the player must form his 2 hands, 1 of 5 cards and 1 of 2 cards. The hand of 5 cards must always have a row higher than the hand of 2 cards. It should be noticed that thanks to the cards of the Joker, it is possible to have 5 Aces which beats a fifth flush with the Ace. The hand with 2 cards can be a pair or not, consequently possible hand with 2 cards the highest will be a pair of Ace.

To win the bets, the value of your two hands, strong and weak must be stronger than those of the croupier or donor. If one of your hands is stronger than croupier's strong hand and than second is equal or weaker , there will be equality and your bets will be restored. If not, your bet is lost. If the two hands are identical then the croupier wins too.
